LifeCare Hospitals of PlanoLifeCare Hospitals of Plano is conveniently located at Tennyson Parkway and Preston Road, easily accessed from I-75 or the North Dallas Tollway in Plano. We are licensed for 53 beds and have a medical staff of more than 150 physicians. We are accredited by The Joint Commission and are Medicare certified. Our hospital specializes in the treatment of medically complex patients who require extended hospitalization. We are passionate about giving our patients the best chance at recovery from acute injury or illness by providing early and aggressive intervention in a critical care setting. Our treatment team includes physicians, nurses, pharmacists, nutritionists and therapists across a range of disciplines — physical, speech, occupational, respiratory, recreational and psychological therapy. We believe this interdisciplinary approach helps speed physical, emotional and spiritual recovery. We embrace each of our patients as individuals with a personal history and a unique health situation and we provide the compassion, support, and nurturing necessary to achieve optimal recovery. All of our patient rooms are ICU and telemetry capable, and our highly trained staff includes ACLS-certified nurses and clinicians. We provide in-house physician coverage nightly from 7PM-7AM. Our VitalStim therapy program for the treatment of swallowing disorders, as well as special services for the management of lymphedema and renal disease, make us uniquely qualified to care for medically complex patients. Our multi-disciplinary wound care team provides seven-day-a-week, comprehensive wound care services. We also have an in-house laboratory and CT scanner for immediate diagnostic ability 24/7. Our hospital has been awarded Quality Respiratory Care Recognition (QRCR) for 2008 and 2009 by the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) in recognition of our highly qualified respiratory therapists and industry best practices in providing respiratory care. Our aggressive ventilator weaning program addresses the needs of medically complex patients during and after mechanical ventilation, and offers a variety of supportive services including breathing retraining, dysphagia management and chest-trauma specific physical therapy to ensure that each patient achieves their fullest recovery potential.
